feels uncertain

"Healing is not about forgetting. It is about learning to carry things differently."

Daniel Osei

Evidence-based.
Deeply human.

My approach draws on EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, and somatic therapy — methods with strong clinical evidence for trauma and anxiety. But evidence is only part of what makes therapy work.

What also matters is the relationship between therapist and client. I work to build a space that feels genuinely safe — one where you are not performing recovery, but actually experiencing it.

I work with adults who have experienced single-incident trauma, complex and developmental trauma, and those navigating anxiety that feels out of proportion to their circumstances. You do not need a formal diagnosis to seek support.

01

Safety first, always

We never move faster than you are ready for. Building a sense of stability and safety comes before any deeper processing work.

02

Understanding, not just managing

Coping strategies have their place, but the real work is understanding what is driving the symptoms — and addressing that directly.

03

Measurable progress

We review regularly so you can see clearly what is shifting. Therapy should feel like it is going somewhere, not just talking in circles.

04

An ending you are ready for

Ending therapy well is part of the process. We plan it together and you leave with the tools to continue without me.

What I specialise in

I work with a focused range of presentations so I can offer genuine depth rather than broad generalism.

🌊

Complex & Developmental Trauma

Childhood adversity, relational trauma, and the patterns that form when early experiences were unsafe or unpredictable.

PTSD & Single-Incident Trauma

Road accidents, medical trauma, assault, sudden loss. Events that changed something and left their mark in ways you are still feeling.

🌀

Anxiety & Panic

Persistent worry, panic attacks, hypervigilance, and the exhaustion of a nervous system that cannot seem to find its off switch.

🪞

Shame & Self-Worth

The deep, often wordless sense that something is fundamentally wrong with you. Trauma almost always touches this — and it can shift.

🏢

Workplace Trauma & Burnout

Bullying, harassment, hostile environments, and the aftermath of working somewhere that was genuinely harmful to your wellbeing.

🌍

Identity & Cultural Context

I bring cultural competence to my work and understand how identity, race, and lived experience shape the therapeutic relationship.

Twelve years of
clinical work

I am a BACP Senior Accredited therapist based in Islington, London. I trained in integrative psychotherapy and subsequently specialised in trauma, completing advanced training in EMDR, trauma-focused CBT, and somatic approaches.

Before moving into private practice I worked for eight years in NHS mental health services, including a specialist trauma team. That experience gave me both clinical rigour and a grounded understanding of how trauma actually presents in real people's lives — not just in textbooks.

I work with adults from all backgrounds. I am particularly committed to culturally competent practice and to making quality trauma therapy accessible to people who have historically found mental health services difficult to navigate.

In their own words

"I had tried therapy twice before and never felt safe enough to go anywhere real. With Daniel it was different from the first session. He is quietly steady in a way that made me feel I could actually say the things I had never said."
M.T. · London
"I came with a PTSD diagnosis and a lot of scepticism. The EMDR work was genuinely remarkable — I did not expect to feel so different so relatively quickly. Daniel explains everything clearly and never pushes you faster than you can go."
R.A. · Online client
"Working with Daniel changed how I understand myself. I came about anxiety but what we uncovered was much older than that. I am grateful he had the skill and patience to go there with me."
S.O. · Islington
"As a Black man I have always been wary of therapy. Daniel made it feel like he actually understood my context — not just my symptoms. That mattered more than I can fully articulate."
